Your PAT™
Picture Analysis Test setup guide
Before you spend a dollar on an ad, PAT tells you if your image will stop the scroll or get scrolled past. Follow the three tabs in order. If you already have Claude, start at Tab 2 - you don't need to build anything, just get your own copy of the tool.
Create your Claude account
Free to sign up. Takes about 2 minutes.
Click the button below. You'll see options to sign up with Google or with your email address.
Easiest: Continue with Google. If you have a Gmail address, click this - approve the connection and you're in.
Using email instead? Enter your address, click Continue, and check your inbox for a login link. Click the link to verify. No password needed.
Claude will ask for your mobile number. Enter it, tick the age confirmation, and click Send Verification Code. Enter the code you receive by text.
Type your name and click Continue. Account created. Move to Tab 2.
Free vs Pro - which do you need?
Start on the free plan. It's all you need to begin.
- Full creative reviews and rankings
- Your own private copy of the tool
- Nothing you upload is visible to anyone else
- No card required
- Usage limits reset every few hours
- Everything in Free
- Much higher daily usage limits
- Worth it if you review a lot of creatives
Open PAT™ and make it yours
I've already built it. You just need to bring it into your own account - takes under a minute.
Make sure you're logged into your own Claude account first (Tab 1). Then click the button below to open my published version of PAT™.
Just like with Ad Copy Coach: look for the Customize button on the tool page and click it. This gives you a permanent copy of PAT in your own account.
Claude opens a screen split in two: a chat on the left, and the working tool on the right. The chat side offers to edit the tool's code - you don't want that.
You don't need to type anything there. Your tool is already fully working in the panel on the right. Just click into it and start using it.
This conversation and the tool inside it now live permanently in your own Claude account. It'll show up in your sidebar and chat history from now on, so you never have to redo this step.
While you're on the tool page, bookmark it so you can jump straight back every time you've got new creative to test - you'll use PAT before every single ad you launch.
Desktop browsers - Ctrl+D on Windows or Cmd+D on Mac. Prefer clicking? Look for the star icon (★) at the right-hand end of your browser's address bar.
How to use PAT™
PAT judges your creative against current Meta best practice - thumb-stop factor, mobile clarity, audience fit and whether the image matches your copy.
One image for a full critique, or up to 4 to have them ranked against each other - PAT will pick your strongest and tell you why. JPG or PNG.
Flick on the "This is a video ad" toggle and upload a screenshot of your opening frame - the first 1 to 3 seconds are what stop the scroll, so that's what gets judged.
Primary text, and headline if you have one. PAT never changes or critiques your copy - it's there so your image can be checked against it. If they don't match, the fix is always the image.
Who they are, what they buy, what they care about. "Women" isn't enough. The more specific you are, the sharper the verdict on whether this creative speaks to them.
Leave "Check the latest Meta guidance" switched on - it takes a little longer but keeps your review current with what's working on Meta right now.
You'll get a score out of 100, a breakdown across 5 areas, a text overlay verdict (including the exact overlay wording to use or replace), and prioritised fixes.
